Chris Lu J.D. '91, Assistant to President Obama and Secretary of the Cabinet, Will Give Summit Keynote

Posted in

Chris Lu, one of the highest-ranking Asian Americans in the Obama Administration, has agreed to speak at the Summit's Gala Luncheon on Saturday, Oct. 16, at Harvard's Faculty Club. Lu was a Harvard Law School classmate of Obama's, but didn't know him well until he joined the newly elected senator's staff as legislative director in 2004.

New look, some new features

The website got a bit of a facelift, and there's also some new features.  You can now login using your Facebook account, thereby linking your fb and HAAAA accounts.  You can also view past Announcements & Newsletters, and there's listings of chapter members available to registered members.   Also, new events can display Google maps of the event location.

We're still looking for a webmaster, though, so do email haaaa.ec@gmail.com if you're interested!

Integration

You can now create an account, and at the same time, let us know your graduation year, degree, and which chapters you'd like to join. Simple enough; it just required a bunch of back-end hacking to understand that CiviCRM and Drupal are more tightly coupled than I'd expected. Which is great. Enjoy.

Also, new members will be subject to approval by our membership committee from henceforth.

2nd day of our existence

CiviCRM and Drupal, which are the bones of this website, are working out pretty well. Drupal maintains the stories and the layout you see here, and CiviCRM will allow us to keep a nice member and events database.
