Friday, December 14 at 7pm
Starr Auditorium, Harvard Kennedy School

On November 6, 2012, Mark Takano ('83) became the first LGBT person of color elected to the US Congress. As he prepares for his first term in office, we'll have a rare opportunity to hear from him about his recent victory and how race and sexuality have played a part in his politics and career, with Q&A to follow. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to hear from a rising star in national politics!

HAAAA - Call for Director Nominations

Four seats on the HAAAA Board of Directors are open for election for the 2012-2014 term.  Directors attend a quarterly teleconference and are responsible for:
1) providing broad vision and goals to the executive committee
2) determining the budget and approving any major financial transactions
3) electing the executive committee biannually
4) reviewing the performance of the executive committee.

This message is a solicitation for nominations from the broader membership for the next set of directors and instructions to participate in voting.  HAAAA continues to rapidly grow and we hope to see high levels of participation this year.

We expect the current Board to recommend a slate of people who are currently active with the organization.  However, anyone interested in running for the Board of Directors or is otherwise interested in getting more involved should contact Vicki Chou, Nominations Chair, at nominations@haaaa.net with a short biography and vision statement of no more than 500 words.  These statements should be submitted in the body of an e-mail in plain text and the subject heading should read HAAAA Director Nomination.

Nominations are due by October 4, 2012.  Voting to commence October 5, 2012 to close in a week.

Please direct all nominations, concerns, or questions to nominations@haaaa.net.  Any questions about membership should be directed to membership@haaaa.net.
